CAB (console adapter box)
Eliminate Cable, Satellite & IPTV Remote Controls with
CAB

Use existing integrated console controls on cardio equipment
to control personal viewing screens and/or control cable, satellite & IPTV
set top boxes without the battery operated remote control.

Enables cardio-console control of ANY cable, satellite or
IPTV set top box . The set top box can be located next to the cardio equipment
or remotely located, back in an A/V closet for instance. The CAB also makes
Broadcastvision personal viewing screens operate from the console controls.
Broadcastvision screens are high-end commercial grade TVs at much less cost
than cardio equipment models. Compatible with integrated console controls from
the most popular fitness equipment brands such as Precor®, Life Fitness®,
Matrix®, True®, Cybex®, Spirit® and others. Eliminates the hand-held battery
operated remote control provided by the cable, satellite & IPTV provider.
The CAB can also control set top boxes for Pro:Idiom® and Verimatrix™
decryption. Broadcastvision first offered a solution for set top box control in
2011 and is the clear-cut market leader in this technology.
Control any set top box located next to, or away from, the
cardio equipment.

Enables cardio-console control of ANY cable, satellite or
IPTV set top box . The set top box can be located next to the cardio equipment
or remotely located, back in an A/V closet for instance. The CAB is small
enough (3" x 1.5" x .75") that it can be hidden on the back of
the TV, under the console or in a raceway system. The CAB keeps the set top
boxes awake so they don‘t go into sleep mode. The CAB allows you to use
integrated controls to control set top boxes on popular cardio equipment brands
such as Precor®, Life Fitness®, Matrix®, True®, Cybex®, Spirit® and others. The
CAB is plug-n-play and does not need to learn IR commands. Unlike some wireless
devices that need to learn IR commands in the field, the CAB is preprogrammed
prior to shipping and can be easily updated onsite if required.

Things to Know
Major cable, satellite and IPTV providers are offering a
smaller set top box (sometimes referred to as a DTA) since the majority of
customers want to locate the set top box next to the cardio equipment
(typically at the base of the cardio).
The CAB is plug-n-play and does not need to learn IR
commands. Unlike some wireless devices that need to learn IR commands in the
field, the CAB is preprogrammed prior to shipping and can be easily updated
onsite.

etc.) and the set top box can be located next to the cardio equipment or remotely
located, back in an A/V closet for instance.

Verimatrix™ decryption.

The CAB is the market leader in providing cardio
entertainment control of set top boxes. Unlike costly, overly complicated
wireless RF systems, the CAB is a simple, cost-effective, plug-n-play solution.
Potential issues using an RF wireless system include:
A transmitter and a receiver are required per piece of
cardio equipment.
The transmitter and receiver need to be powered.
The receiver will need to be located per the wireless
guidelines so there are no signal issues.
Most facilities are equipped with coax cable that has been
split to each piece of cardio equipment so locating the cable or satellite box
next to, or close to, the cardio equipment is usually the most cost effective.
Wireless RF control systems add a needless point of failure.
Wireless systems may not be programmed with the necessary IR
codes to operate with your cable or satellite boxes. Instead, the installer has
to configure the wireless system to learn the IR codes. The CAB is
pre-programmed with the necessary IR codes for a cost-effective, plug-n-play
solution that can also be easily updated onsite.
