Great piece of equipment
As a mountain hiker, I prefer steppers over ellipticals due to the increased vertical motion in each step, and finding good steppers these days provides way less choice than it did when I bought my first one in 1997. When I saw the design and specs for the CS800 it seemed worth the chance. Sure was. We’ve used this machine in our home for 3 months and are convinced it will last for the long haul. It’s sturdy, takes up a reasonable amount of space (much less than an elliptical), is totally quiet, aesthetically pleasing, and has all the functions needed. It looks to be a 2018 model (new in box) which is possibly why it came with a nice discount, also made in Taiwan which I find preferable to some other Asian manufacturing localities. The stepping motion with this machine is attenuated at the bottom of the downstep motion, and this creates a nice softening effect which my aging knees surprisingly appreciate (I didn’t have the luxury of testing one out in a showroom or gym beforehand). It’s gratifying that when taking a sight-unseen chance things work out so well.
